Hours:  3-4 hours per week (to start). 1 hour Monday, 1 hour Friday, remaining 2 to meet deadlines.

Salary: £12 ph

The Wild Wordsmith is a content writing and mentoring business based in Southampton, founded in 2019 by Amber Badger. We offer a rich variety of copywriting services including blogs, website copy, case studies, articles, email marketing, scripts and everything else a purpose led, free spirited business could need to level-up their online presence. What sets us apart is our focus on strategy. We ensure our clients have a content strategy in place before we start writing a single word. We work hard to breathe life into our clients' brands through strategy, storytelling and soulful words. We do this through our 'Flourish' packages, crafting brand stories, tone of voice guides and content marketing strategies. 

 

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Content Assistant role is pivotal for the growth of The Wild Wordsmith and the quality of service we deliver to our clients. We have big plans for The Wild Wordsmith in 2021 and this role will grow with the business. Although it's freelance, you'll be an integral part of the team.

MAIN DUTIES

 

FOR THE WILD WORDSMITH

  • Social media story and post template design and curation
  • Email sequence build and Lead magnet builds
  • Pinterest management in line with content/growth strategy
  • Research suitable podcast/blog/event outreach in line with content/growth strategy
  • Create and send pitch to podcast and event owners
  • SEO research and website updates in line with content/growth strategy
  • Create guest guidelines for The Wild Wordsmith's upcoming podcast

 

FOR CLIENTS

  • Researching potential/new client companies and competition
  • Researching topics for blogs and newsletters in line with the content strategy

  • SEO research for blogs or web copy in line with the content strategy

  • Research for sales funnels in line with the content strategy

  •  Writing up session notes and send follow up emails

  • Upload content to client website or social media when required

  •  Blog analytics for clients

     

INTERN PROFILE

  • A degree in a communications or linguistics related subject Marketing experience (paid or voluntary)

  • Great attention to detail and a creative flair

  •  Good working knowledge of all social media platforms

  •  An understanding of SEO and algorithms

  •  A solid understanding of content marketing theories and strategies.
